Painting Furniture

Spending a few days ashore painting for the Maine Country Home store is lots of fun and very creative. Antique furniture is purchased or found, fixed up with some glue and a clamp or two and then totally refurbished by Penny and Lydia with Chalk paint and wax and a serious amount of distressing, the pieces look great.

Summer here in Maine is just great and all the flowers and vegetable gardens are flourishing with a hot summer. Vegetables that were planted 6 weeks ago are producing well. I have difficulty imagining what winter is like, but I do know it would be a radically different place, with leaves missing from trees and gardens under snow and wet cold weather.
