Newport Rhode Island is a huge sailing place in the summer with large regattas and races each weekend between Mid may and September, then the harbour completely empties out and the great sailing in Newport stops for the winter.
The Far 40s are having a regatta this week, now that the America’s Cup racing is over and they have moved on to the next venue San Francisco.
The Bermuda race boats are all heading back to Newport for some more Summer racing.
I have headed north for a while, to Maine and sailing towards Halifax and Prince Edward islands.
